For work I always have a
Lamy 2000 fountain pen and a Lamy 2000 mechanical pencil. The FP is the perfect office pen, not least because it has a snap-on cap which makes for easy "cap on/cap off" note taking in meetings.
I always have a "character" pen with me as well, something that's fun to write with. I rotate these pens in and out and fill them with a different ink colour, depending upon my mood.
Right now the character pen I'm using is the
Montblanc 149. I'm calling this "The Rector's Set" as it's the precise combination of writing instruments my friend
Tim employs.
Another
peccadillo of mine is to select an ink for each new engagement. This is colour coding, so I can readily determine which organisation my notes apply to when I review them.
I put a bit of thought into ink selection. I'm pleased to be using
green/gold from the German manufacturer Rohrer & Klingner, in rendering service to the
