This is pretty cool.
I gave my car away a couple of weeks ago. On average I was driving it about once a month, and sometimes I'd need to disconnect the battery because I was driving it so infrequently and then I'd forget and have to jumpstart and blah blah blah a whole lot of hassle.
I decided to experiment in living car-free. As it transpires it's not all that easy even though I don't travel outside of my comfort zone frequently: knowing that you *can't* use a car when you need to is psychologically inhibiting.
So I signed up for CityHop, a car-sharing service. I booked it for an appointment I have this Wednesday and low-and-behold, the car is literally parked outside my place. It is actually closer to me than my own carpark.
Renting the vehicle is going to cost me about $30 for two and a half hours. In comparison, $30 is about what it cost me to drive my V8 from my carpark on level 6 to ground level.
On the downside I'll be driving a Yaris. Try as I might, I can't figure out how to make this cool.
